Medical scientists world over are now coming to terms with the reality of Jesus’ words over 2000 years ago, that man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God, Matt 4:4. This is after many studies confirmed that regular exposure to spiritual life is a panacea to long live. Going to church has a great impact on the general wellbeing of humanity whether during good or ill health. During good health, spiritual exposure contributes to less worry, letting go, living in the present moments, strength of personal values and worldview. While in illness it improves stress control by offering better copying mechanisms, richer social support and all this in turn contributes to better health outcomes. This and much more is what KUSDA is all about.
KUSDA church being a community of scholars with majority young people is keen to fulfill the philosophy of Christian education which is the harmonious development of the physical, mental, social and spiritual faculties. We thank the university management for giving us the opportunity to foster this philosophy in a secular environment.
In KUSDA we are privileged to be part and parcel of a larger network of over 25M Seventh-day Adventists Christian worshipers worldwide whose mission is preparing faithfully committed Christ’s disciples who are actively involved in preparing others for His second coming.
However, we derive our uniqueness in integrating Christian principles of holistic development along with a culture of scholars in a world class secular setting. This is a big calling that we must not just take for granted. We prayerfully continue preparing ourselves to deal with the challenges that come with a calling of this magnitude and ask everyone to take this responsibility a notch higher.
In a world clouded with political, social, moral and even spiritual quagmires, KUSDA envisages men and women who will be masters and not slaves of these circumstances, men and women who possess breadth of mind, clearness of thought, and courage of their convictions, strict moral code and a sense of duty. Through Gods guidance we have a task to work for a generation of young men and women who will not just be consumed by successes and great gifts but also live a symmetrical and balanced life.
Finally, I cannot finish without thanking our rich diversity of membership in KUSDA, the cordial working relationship and their extraordinary commitment towards the attainment of all ours. Finishing the church annex was a major milestone in 2017. However, culminating the year with successful missions conducted by our ministries across the great republic of Kenya and baptizing over 250 people was our greatest achievement.
We thank our Chaplain, the community and staff, our ministries, the entire membership, the associates, our collaborators and all our sponsors who were very supportive for this cause. May God bless you richly. Thank you.
